A programmer by trade and an astrology researcher by calling — Omid built Kandiora to turn seven years of study into something people could actually use, one quiet day at a time.

Two disciplines, one question

Omid Deiminiyat has spent more than seven years in deep, dedicated study of astrology — not as a casual interest, but as a serious research practice: tracing planetary cycles, chart symbolism, lunar timing, and energetic systems like the chakras across traditions, and testing what actually held up against lived experience over years of observation.

At the same time, Omid has built a career as a programmer, based in Aalborg, Denmark, where he runs Kandlus — the studio behind Kandiora and its sister apps. That combination is unusual. Most astrology research stays locked in notebooks, consultations, or long-form readings that only reach a handful of people at a time. Most software, on the other hand, is built by people who've never sat with a birth chart long enough to understand why timing matters. Omid built Kandiora at the intersection of the two: the depth of a researcher, delivered with the discipline of an engineer.

Why Kandiora exists

The idea behind Kandiora is simple to say and hard to build well: most people will never sit down for a full astrological consultation, and most astrology content online is either watered down into generic horoscopes or so dense it's unusable in daily life. Omid saw a gap between what serious astrological research can actually offer — real awareness of cycles, timing, and inner rhythm — and what an ordinary person can access on an ordinary Tuesday morning.

Kandiora is Omid's answer to that gap: years of research, distilled into a calm, structured daily briefing. Not predictions. Not vague affirmations. A tool for self-awareness — built to help people notice their own patterns, understand the energy of their day, and move through it with a little more clarity and intention.

A mission bigger than one app

Omid describes the goal in plain terms: to help grow humanity's awareness. Not through mysticism for its own sake, but by making ancient, layered systems — astrology, lunar cycles, chakra balance, reflective practice — accessible, structured, and genuinely useful in daily life. Kandiora is built on the belief that self-awareness, practiced consistently in small daily moments, compounds into something meaningful: clearer decisions, steadier emotional footing, and a more intentional relationship with time itself.
